Growing in Grace

Fridays Afternoons from 4-5:15

(Beginning September 11th, 2026)

Growing in Grace is our after-school formation program for Children pre-K through 5th grade.

We meet every week during the school year for a time of worship, bible study, and hands-on activity.

Our mission is to:

  • nurture young Christians in the faith

  • provide basic biblical literacy

  • encourage big questions and wonderings about God

  • form patterns of prayer, including petition, thanksgiving, praise, and penitence

  • foster Episcopal values of corporate worship, faithful inquiry, and community

  • Equip children with tools to participate more fully in public worship on Sunday.

The typical pattern of our meetings is:

  • 4pm - Arrival and Welcome

  • 4:05 - Opening Ritual and Gathering Song

  • 4:15 - (Bible) Story Time

  • 4:25 - Response and Discussion

  • 4:35 - Prayer and Peace

  • 4:45 - Hands-on Activity

  • 5:15 - Closing Prayer

  • 5:15-5:20 - Pick Up and Departure

Each meeting is led by our priest, Fr. Lachlan, along with volunteers from the parish.

All adult leaders are trained in Safe Church practices according to Diocese of Virginia guidelines.

If you have questions or want to enroll your student, please email Fr. Lachlan.

If you’d like to get involved with these outreach ministries, email the office to learn more.
