The Rev. Lachlan S. Hassman
PRIEST-IN-CHARGE
The Rev’d Lachlan Hassman began as Priest-in-Charge of Christ Church in Advent of 2025. As Priest-in-Charge, Fr. Lachlan provides pastoral care to the parish community, organizes our worship, and works alongside staff and volunteers to support our common life. Prior to his call to Christ Church, Lachlan served as Associate Vicar at St. Joseph’s, Durham NC, where he cared for a Breakfast Ministry serving unhoused and other food-insecure people. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where he studied Religion, Architectural History, and Middle Eastern languages.
Outside of church, Lachlan is a PhD student in Architectural History at Duke University. In his spare time, he enjoys tending to the Rectory garden, woodworking, running, and caring for his very demanding cat.
The Rev. Connie Clark
PRIEST ASSOCIATE
Connie recently retired after 17 years as Vicar of Buck Mountain Episcopal Church. Before her time at Buck Mountain, Connie was a chaplain at two state psychiatric hospitals for 10 years, one in northern Virginia and one in Wyoming. Those distinctive experiences form the basis for a memoir she is working on about that ministry and the connection between mental health and spirituality. Before entering full-time ministry, Connie was an independent writer and fund-raising consultant for nonprofit organizations in the D.C. area and across the country.
As Priest Associate, Connie works very part time, assisting Fr. Lachlan with pastoral care, preaching, and adult formation. She brings with her a wealth of wisdom, experience in ministry, and spiritual depth.
