Baptism and Confirmation

Baptism

In Baptism, God adopts us as his children and gathers us as members of Christ’s Body, the Church. At Christ Church, we baptize both infants and adults at set feasts during the year: The Easter Vigil (particularly appropriate for adult candidates); The Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (the first Sunday after January 6th); The Day of Pentecost (50 days after Easter); The Feast of All Saints (the first Sunday in November).

To inquire about Baptism for yourself or an infant or child, please contact the office by emailing or calling the office at 540.832.3209.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a sacrament in which we affirm our baptismal vows and receive the laying on of hands by a Bishop. Confirmation is an occasion to deepen your identity as a Christian.

Confirmation is offered every other year, in conjunction with the Bishop’s visit to Christ Church. Preparation for Confirmation will be announced in advance of that visit. Please contact the office to learn more.
